Tennis Rules
Mission: Our mission is to offer Kings Cove members a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive tennis experience, fostering camaraderie and healthy competition. We are committed to maintaining exceptional court conditions and promoting team spirit through engaging and well-organized play.
Please note: All players are expected to adhere to ALTA rules and regulations while participating in league or team play on Kings Cove courts
1. GENERAL COURT GUIDELINES
a) Courts are open daily from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM
b) Proper tennis attire is required at all times, including a shirt and non-marking tennis shoes
c) Pets, including dogs, are not permitted on the courts
d) Courts are designated for tennis use only—all other activities are prohibited
e) Recreational equipment such as bicycles, skateboards, or scooters is not allowed
f) Glass containers are strictly prohibited on the courts
g) Smoking is not permitted on or around the court area
h) Please show courtesy and respect to fellow players, spectators, and nearby residents
i) Help maintain a clean environment—empty court-side bins into the larger trash cans for collection
j) Use rollers only when courts are wet and return them to their proper place afterwards
K) Practice proper tennis etiquette at all times
l) Turn off court lights when finished
m) Ensure the gates are securely closed when leaving the courts
2. COURT RESERVATIONS
a) Court reservations must be made via www.reservemycourt.com. Instructions for registration can be found in the Documents section of your PayHOA.com account.
Please note: Reservations made using physical signs or markers will not be honored.
b) Only Kings Cove members are permitted to reserve courts
c) Each household may reserve one court per day for a maximum of two hours
d) Reservations will be forfeited if the reserving member is not present within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time
e) Reservation privileges will be suspended for resident members who are not current on HOA dues
f) Non-resident members who fail to renew their membership by the stated deadline will also have their reservation privileges suspended
g) Members with valid reservations have priority access to courts.
Exception: Please allow scheduled league flex matches a reasonable time to conclude play
h) If your plans change, cancel your reservation through the website. Repeated failure to do so may result in temporary suspension of reservation privileges
i) Extended or special event reservations will be granted at the discretion of the Tennis Committee
3. GUEST POLICY
a) Guests are welcome to use the courts only when accompanied by a Kings Cove member
b) Members are fully responsible for the conduct, adherence to rules, and overall behavior of their guests
c) Non-member residents of Kings Cove are not permitted to use the courts under any circumstances
4. LESSONS
a) To be authorized to provide instruction on Kings Cove courts, all teaching professionals must:
i) Register with the Tennis Committee, providing their full name, telephone number, and address
ii) Be active members of a recognized professional tennis organization
iii) Provide valid proof of liability insurance
b) All lessons must adhere to the standard court reservation policy, unless part of a regularly scheduled league practice
c) Members may offer lessons to fellow members and/or guests, provided they are in full compliance with all applicable court rules
5. TEAM PLAY
a) For information about existing teams or opportunities to join, please contact the Tennis Committee
b) All new teams must receive approval from the Tennis Committee prior to formation
c) Team captains are responsible for collecting and submitting the non-member fee of $25 per non-member per season. This fee grants non-members access to participate in official team practices and scheduled matches
